Activities Align with Head Start Performance Standards
PlayBright's fun, easy-to-use activities help children reach their developmental milestones-and help educators meet their goals. Our materials and trainings align with
Head Start Performance Standards. This detailed chart shows how PlayBright aligns with Child Health and Development, Education and Early Childhood Development, Child Mental Health, Family Partnerships and Parent Involvement standards.
Designed for Head Start Educators by Head Start Educators
While developing PlayBright, the
Children's Home Society of Washington (CHSW) early childhood educators drew upon decades of professional experience as Head Start (HS)/Early Head Start (EHS) teachers and administrators, as well as their understanding of Head Start's unique learning environments and mission. PlayBright shares many foundational goals with HS/EHS by providing
research-based activities that nurture the development of the whole child, build school readiness, and strengthen bonds between children and families. As a result, PlayBright was awarded a Head Start Innovation Planning Grant.
Strong Roots in Head Start and Early Head Start
Much like Head Start, CHSW is dedicated to fulfilling the promise of every child. The organization has a long history of success partnering with Head Start and Early Head Start. CHSW is an Early Head Start grantee, and provides HS and EHS services to more than 1,000 children and parents throughout Washington State each year.
